Why was Soferia founded?
We believed that IKEA furniture is beautifully designed, but fabrics wear out over time.
Instead of throwing away a good sofa, we decided to create covers that would let people enjoy it for many years.
It all started in 2013 with one sewing machine and a simple question: why should you have to buy a new sofa just because the fabric has aged?
We first made covers for friends. Today we ship them to 32 countries, Canada among them, and more than 150,000 customers have ordered from our workshop.
One thing has not changed: we treat every cover as if we were sewing it for ourselves.
We constantly improve our patterns, listening to customer feedback and taking care of every detail — from seam strength to thread colour.

We work differently. For every IKEA model – from EKTORP to SÖDERHAMN – we have our own tested pattern,
refined over the years based on thousands of pieces we have sewn.
Centimetre-perfect fit
Our sewing patterns reproduce the exact dimensions of the specific model, including headrests and cushions.
The cover fits like a second skin and does not slip during everyday use.
Fabrics we know inside out
Before a fabric enters our range, we test its abrasion resistance, colour fastness and behaviour after washing.
Only materials that stand up to life with children and pets remain in our offer.

Every order is handled by a specific tailor, and you have direct contact with our team.
We will advise you on the fabric, check the model and help you choose a colour for your interior.

Canada is one of our 32 delivery countries. Covers are shipped from Europe by tracked courier,
with prices in CAD and import duties already covered, so there is nothing to pay at the door.

Yes. Each cover is sewn to the pattern of one specific IKEA model and variant, so it fits like the original IKEA cover. Every cover passes quality control before shipping. The product page lists the dimensions to compare with your furniture.
Yes. A fabric sample order costs 21 CAD. You order samples on the Fabrics & samples page and check the colour and texture at home.
Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the product, without giving a reason. The cover must be complete, unused and undamaged. The refund is made within 5 working days using the original payment method. The right of withdrawal does not apply to fabric samples or fabric by the meter.
Every cover is sewn to order in the EU and delivered within 14 business days of payment, unless a different time is shown on the product page.
Yes. The covers are removable and most fabrics are machine washable at 30°C; a few fabrics are hand-wash only. Each fabric page shows its care instructions.
Yes, production starts only after the order is placed. We do not keep ready-made covers in stock — this gives you a full choice of fabric and colour.
Yes, the covers have sewn-in zippers that make them easy to put on and remove. Every zipper is tested during quality control.
Every order includes care instructions. The care instructions for each fabric are also listed on its fabric page.
